Young Rebecca De Mornay first started performing during her years at the Lee Strasberg Institute, in New York.

She made her big screen debut in musical film One from the Heart (1981) in role as Understudy.

She got her television debut in folklore anthology series Tall Tales & Legends (1986) in episode "Pecos Bill", in role as Slew Foot Sue.
