Young Lara Flynn Boyle first started performing in a local improv class, at the Piven Theater Workshop in Evanston, Illinois.

She made her big screen debut in supernatural horror film Poltergeist III (1988) in role as Donna Gardner.

She got her television debut in ABC comedy drama series Jack and Mike (1987) in episode "Quality of Mercy", in role as Leslie.
