Young Kelly Hu first started her career in beauty pageants and as a model.

She made her big screen debut in slasher movie Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989) in role as Eva Watanabe.

She got her television debut in ABC sitcom Growing Pains (1987-1988) in role as Melia.

Her breakthrough performance came as Cassandra in sword and sorcery action adventure film The Scorpion King (2002).
