Young Dove Cameron first started performing in community theater, at Bainbridge Performing Arts, at the age of eight.

She made her big screen debut in action comedy film Barely Lethal (2015) in role as Liz Larson.

She got her television debut in Showtime comedy drama series Shameless (2012) in episodes: "A Beautiful Mess" and "Father's Day", in role as Holly Herkimer.

Her breakthrough performance came with dual role as Liv Rooney/Maddie Rooney in Disney Channel comedy television series Liv and Maddie (2013-2017).
