Melanie Richards Griffith was born in New York City, U.S., on August 9, 1957, is an American hot actress. Young Melanie Griffith began her career as a child model in commercials. She made her big screen debut in western film Smith! (1969) in role as Extra. Her first credited film role was as Delly Grastner in neo noir movie Night Moves (1975) at the age of 17, opposite Gene Hackman.

Her breakthrough performance came as Holly Body in neo-noir thriller movie Body Double (1984), directed by Brian De Palma, for which she won a National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Supporting Actress and was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress.

She made her Broadway debut in a musical Chicago (2003) in role as Roxie Hart.
