Mark Wahlberg was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, U.S., on June 5, 1971, is an American actor. Young Mark Wahlberg began his career as a frontman of the band Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch and in a series of underwear ads for Calvin Klein. He made his acting debut in TV film The Substitute (1993). He made his big screen debut in comedy drama film Renaissance Man (1994) in role as Private Tommy Lee Haywood. Mark's breakthrough role came as Eddie Adams (Dirk Diggler) in drama film Boogie Nights (1997).
He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Staff Sgt. Sean Dignam in crime drama film The Departed (2006) directed by Martin Scorsese.
